Can A Humorous Poem "Hook" Audiences?

Grace Unto You and Peace,
Poemsters and Other Creative Folk,

When I appear at an open mic, I have five minutes to deliver poems and material which must present a slice of life.

But sometimes the audience is rowdy and boisterous.

I try to use a Hook of a poem filled with "Good Humor."

It gets their attention and calms them down for the "other" material which I wish to give them.

A poet from the City {San Francisco} who does this on the page is Mr. Michael [Welch].

You can see one and only one of his chuckles at: < mikewelch.stumbleupon.com/review/13756083/ [mikewelch.stumbleupon.com/review/13756083/] >.

If you chortle at this one and would be interested in seeing more poems of his as well as more in depth work by him?

Try: < mikewelch.stumbleupon.com [mikewelch.stumbleupon.com] >

Laugh, cry, wonder and feel the "awe" or his deft craft.

Agape, kiitos, shalom, xie xie, salaam, ja namaste,

Don as "Tauno"
